During this time of year, I love to mix autumnal touches with summery pieces. The gorgeous burgundy color of this vest evokes feelings of fall, but it’s 100% linen, so it will be totally breathable in case temperatures spike. I am a firm believer that you can wear white jeans all year round, but they are undoubtedly a summertime staple that keeps a look like this still feeling light and fresh. Pair with coordinated sandals, a beautiful chesnut colored suede bag, and gold accessories and you are good to go!

Cotton is of course another classic, breathable fabric for the summer. However, I often find stiffer cottons like poplin can be tricky to wear in the summer because they can show sweat. Even though some days may still be warm, at this time of year it is certainly much cooler than it was in the middle of the summer. It’s a perfect time to break out any of your crisper fabrics that are less forgiving when temperatures and humidity are running high. This rich olive color is stunning, cream accessories lighten the look, and the patterned hair scarf gives the look an unexpected touch of romance.

Linen pants are probably one of the most versatile pieces you can own for the summertime. When it’s blazing hot, they are still breathable and protect you a bit from the sun, but when it starts to get cooler out, they keep you so much warmer than you’d be in shorts. This asymmetrical, khaki top has been an absolute favorite of mine this summer. I love a draped, je ne sais quoi moment, but sometimes tops like this just don’t hang right… no need for concern with this one! It drapes so effortlessly and is made from a lovely cotton blend fabric that holds its shape beautifully.
